Mayor Kenney Helps Holocaust Survivors Celebrate The Day of Liberation

More than 150 Holocaust Survivors from the Greater Philadelphia region attended JFCS’ Café Europa event, in recognition of the Day of Liberation, ending of Hitler’s Third Reich.

Café Europa is an annual tradition where agencies host luncheons, dances, talks, and community events. These programs are for Holocaust Survivors to meet over a meal and form community. The name comes from a cafe in Stockholm, Sweden where survivors would meet after the war to try to find family and friends.

Guests enjoyed lunch, dancing and mingling with friends, along with some old-world entertainment.
