People Living with Disabilities Program
JFCS takes a holistic approach to support individuals with disabilities and their families and caregivers in their quest to achieve the highest level of independence, a sense of community, and an enhanced quality of life. Our licensed social workers create meaningful relationships, identifying the unique strengths of each person and developing plans to help them meet their goals. JFCS is committed to providing an accepting and inclusive environment for all. Our services are informed and guided by the values of belonging and dignity and the full acceptance and contribution of people with disabilities in the community.
JFCS’ expertise is serving individuals on the autism spectrum, with developmental and intellectual disabilities, with brain injuries, with mental health challenges, and with other disabilities. Staff assist in navigating life challenges, transitions, employment, benefits and entitlements, and emotional and mental well-being through counseling, care management, and other support services and support groups. We work to foster community and empower individuals to advocate for themselves.
